The Autobiography of Miss Jane Pittman
For the next five entries, I will be posting reflections of the novel by Ernest J. Gaines. The story is about the struggle that African Americans have been through. The narrator of the story is Jane Pittman and she tells us events and stories from her days as a slave girl in the South up until the Civil Rights Movement. Some people say that the story is nonfiction but it's not. The author did a lot of research to give facts to what Jane said but after all, he created all of it and therefore is fiction. The novel was dramatized in a movie that was made in 1974. The movie is in the link below and I encourage you to watch it and of course read the novel.
